The alleged victim was a student at a nearby secondary school and was on her way to her grandmother’s home. She escaped the attack with minor injuries and was taken to hospital, where she received stitches for her head wound. Pan was visited by dancehall artiste Mr Vegas and members of the community in Clarks Town, where she apologised for her actions. She vowed not to do it again, promised to teach the girl martial arts and give her an allowance and swore to be a better neighbour in the future. As a result, Pan was remanded in custody but has been released from prison on Tuesday. She was placed on a probation order until March 2022. She has also been banned from all forms of public speaking and from working with children in any capacity.

In other news, former Keelung City Council speaker Huang Ching-tai (Huang Jing Tai) was sentenced to a 20-year jail term Friday for corruption and embezzlement. The court found that he committed illegal activities related to the sale of land near the Badu Railway Station and Unison Developing Co’s (Guo Tong Kai Fa) project for a street extension in the city’s Yuemei Road area.
